Welcome

Welcome to Crossroads – haere mai, nau mai! Do come and share one of our services with us. Come early for a barista coffee or stay afterwards for a coffee and fabulous home baking. Come and enjoy Church in our new facility set in an idyllic rural setting – a Church with a difference. We are a community of people from a large geographical area, with big hearts and a vision of bringing communities and Christ together.

About

In 1883 Crossroads was planted as a Church by St James, Pukekohe. We are a Bible believing and contemporary Church made up of people who love God, and through Him, seek to love and serve people. We seek to keep the main thing the main thing – the love of God demonstrated through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for all our sin, and from this flows our ministry. Our desire is that all may experience this Good News and live it out in their daily lives. We have pastored here since 1997 and are surrounded by a wonderful group of people who are loving, faith-filled and desirous of growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

Our services are relaxed, inter-generational and Word-centred.  We are intentional about creating an atmosphere where people can connect with each other in our café. Our hope and prayer is, that individually and together we may contribute to making our world a better place through our faith In Jesus Christ, fulfilling the two great commandments – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind” and the second is, “Love your neighbour as yourself.” Community, a growing faith and service are important to us.

Identity

Crossroads is a part of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand network. Our denomination has made wise decisions concerning leadership and this means two things:

  • Inclusiveness.  Everyone is welcome to Church.
  • Leadership.  There are certain qualifications and requirements for leaders.

We look forward to you coming and enjoying a coffee with us and worshipping with us.  Until then, the Lord bless and keep you in His perfect peace.

Statement of Faith

From this land of Aotearoa New Zealand we confess that we believe in and belong to the one true and living God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Love before all love.

We believe in God the Father, sovereign and holy, Creator and nurturer of all, Father of Jesus Christ, sender of the Holy Spirit, and Judge of all the earth. We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, truly human and truly divine, who lived among us full of grace and truth. For our sin He was crucified and by the power of God was raised from death, forgiving us, setting us free, and bringing to birth God’s new creation. Now ascended, he calls us to repentance and faith and restores us to God and to one another.

We believe in God the Holy Spirit, the giver of life at work in all creation, who inspired the Scriptures and makes Christ known, who transforms hearts and minds and gathers us into the community of Christ, empowering the Church in worship and in mission. We belong to this triune God, women and men, young and old, from all nations, in Christ he iwi kotahi tatou, (we are one people) witnesses to God’s love in word and action, servants of reconciliation, and stewards of creation. As God’s people, we look forward in hope and joy to the return of Christ, to the new heaven and earth, where evil and death will be no more, justice and peace will flourish and we will forever delight in the glory of God.
